The questions that come up most, and their answers. The same answers the app gives — here as well, so you can read them before you install it.
What is Eb3t?
A private messenger for Egypt. Your messages are end-to-end encrypted, so only you and the person you're talking to can read them.
Why do you need my phone number?
Your number verifies your account and is how friends find you. When Eb3t checks which of your contacts are here, it sends scrambled codes — never their plain numbers.
Can Eb3t read my messages?
No. Personal chats are end-to-end encrypted — not even we can read them. Encryption is always on and can't be turned off.
I didn't get my verification code
Check that your number is correct, wait for the timer, then tap Resend. A code arrives by SMS; make sure you have signal.
Which countries can register?
Eb3t is starting in Egypt (+20). Support for more countries is on the way.
