Intellectual Property Policy

1. What this policy covers

Eb3t respects intellectual property and expects the same of the people who use it. This policy explains how to report content on Eb3t that infringes your copyright or trademark, and what we do about it. It is the policy §7 of our Terms of Service refers to.

Because Eb3t's messages are end-to-end encrypted, content inside chats is not on our servers, and we cannot see it or remove it. This policy therefore applies to what is visible to us or shown to others: profile names, profile photos, "about" lines, group names and icons, and business profiles where they exist.

2. Copyright

Copyright protects original works — writing, images, music, video and art. It protects the expression itself, not facts, ideas, names or titles. A name, logo or slogan may be protected as a trademark instead.

3. Trademark

A trademark is a word, slogan, symbol or design that distinguishes one party's products or services from another's. Trademark law exists to prevent confusion about who provides what.

4. Reporting infringement

If you believe content on Eb3t infringes your rights, consider contacting the person directly first — what one message can settle is faster than any report. Otherwise, write to support@eb3t.com with:

• the work or mark you hold rights in, and what your rights are;
• the infringing content and where it appears — for example, the account and what is visible on its profile;
• your name and how to reach you;
• a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised.

5. What we do

Where a report is substantiated, we remove the readable content — a profile photo, a name, an "about" line, a group name or icon — or act against the account, or both. We cannot remove content inside end-to-end encrypted chats, because it is not on our servers; where infringement happens there, action against the account is the remedy.

6. Repeat infringement

An account that clearly, seriously or repeatedly infringes others' intellectual property may be suspended or terminated, as §11 of the Terms of Service provides. A report that is withdrawn or overturned does not count against the account.

7. Objections

If your content or your account was actioned under this policy and you believe that was a mistake, write to support@eb3t.com and say why. We review, and we reverse what was wrongly taken.
